Mission Statement
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, their families, and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure civil rights. PFLAG provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.

Support
At our meeting, sharing is optional, involvement is voluntary, and confidentiality is respected. Each meeting includes discussion groups with refreshments and sometimes a speaker, panel or other program. We welcome gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people and their parents, families and friends.

Education
PFLAG Speakers Bureau brings together parents and other family members with audiences of all kinds. We tell our own stories and encourage questions. Our audiences include churches, schools, health professionals, business, scouts and service agencies.

Advocacy
Fargo/Moorhead PFLAG supports local, state, and national legislation designed to assure the civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons.
